Għar Lapsi remains closed after Storm Harry on 19–20 January 2026 caused major damage to the bay, access points and nearby infrastructure. The area is still shut while repairs and safety works continue.

About this Beach
The name translates roughly as Cave of the Ascension, and the cave it refers to is still visible at the base of the cliffs on calm days. The seafood restaurant perched above the rocks has been drawing Maltese families on summer afternoons for decades.

By car
From Siġġiewi, follow signs to Għar Lapsi. The road narrows toward the coast.
By bus
No direct bus. Car recommended.
