About this Beach
The Santa Marija Tower overlooking the bay was built in 1618 under Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt as one of a network of coastal watchtowers designed to give early warning of approaching Ottoman fleets. It is among the best-preserved of the original Wignacourt towers and can be climbed for views across to both Malta and Gozo on a clear day.
Boat to Comino, or walk 20 min from the Blue Lagoon across the island.
Comino ferry from Ċirkewwa or Mġarr.
